Awakening to Remember #1

Awakening to Remember #1 - June 18, 2019
Maurice Turmel - AKA: “Dr Moe”

Hi there, I’m Maurice Turmel, retired psychologist and professional seeker on the path to who knows where, wondering if I’m a Lightworker, Starseed or simply an Ascension seeker as I go through this barrage of energy hitting us all lately and making many of us a bit loopy.

I’ve had lonely times, anxious times, difficulties sleeping, chaotic dreams and a whole host of symptoms related to this Ascension process. And I’ve asked myself often: am I a Lightworker, Starseed or something else I can’t identify just yet, getting different answers on different days.

I’ve dealt with with personal trauma from childhood forward, cried buckets of tears to relieve myself of that pain, determined to do the healing necessary along the way.  I’ve opened my heart as regularly suggested and kept finding a host of pain relics that I didn’t know existed.  Are we done yet?

I’ve deep breathed.  I’ve meditated.  I’ve done stress tapping for anxiety. I’ve listened to a host of recorded programs coming from people with different specialties in the spiritual healing arts.  I’ve done 45+ years of personal growth work and became a psychologist along the way thinking that was my purpose. And it was, for a little while.  Yup, back to the drawing board.

So here’s the deal.  I’m asking questions so I can determine that I’m not alone.  If you’re on this path then please jump in and share some of your story as I’ve started to do here.  Here are some of the questions I’ve been asking myself along the way.  See if any of them fit you.

Are you a Lightworker, Starseed, or some other category of seeker out on this journey to help the Earth and all of us aboard to ascend?

Are you feeling lonely and scared some of the time, not certain what to make of what’s going on inside you as the energies keep coming in?

Are you a seeker who feels you have a mission, but its not quite clear to you what that is yet?

Do you feel lost or confused with this barrage of spiritual information coming at you from so many directions, most of it being online?

Are you listening to your heart yet, or finding it hard to get past the noise your ego wants to make when you tune into your inner world?

Are you experiencing any of the symptoms that I listed at the beginning of this post that have been some of the more familiar stepping stones so far?

This is just a trial balloon, a beginning, to see what we might have in common in terms of experiences related to this Ascension process and our participation in it.

We read articles and posts every day about what we’re allegedly going through, but we rarely get asked what is going on with us.

So I’m trying to start a conversation here.  I believe we’re stronger working together while sharing aspects of our journey.  And I believe that sharing can be a great stress reliever.  What do you think?

Say It with Love - Misplaced Magic

Say It with Love - Misplaced Magic

Maurice Turmel & Higher Self - March 27, 2019

Remember those times when you were fraught with desire hoping to find a way to access your Heart Centre?

That was when you were younger.  The vistas of the world were open to you then. Much magic prevailed.

It was hard not to absorb the beauty of what you saw and felt as it resonated with your deepest heart's desire.  And while doing so, it activated all those pulses within that brought you joy.

You grew out of those stages as life pressed itself upon you with its demands and obligations.  And sadly, the majesty of those early days slowly began to fade.

Now you had 'livings' to master and debts to deal with as you became 'trained' in the rudimentariness of living on this Earth.

The 'program' was instilled into all of us arriving here from very early on.  So by the time we reached adulthood we had been properly shaped and crafted to meet the demands of the 'system.'

As life pressed on we questioned those demands.  We wondered what had happened to that childhood naivety where a blade of grass and a hovering butterfly were all it took to make us smile.

We've been told at many points in our evolution that we have to become as children again and see through those eyes to recapture that magic.  Easier said then done with distraction upon distraction being served up to us in a daily menu of media blasts alleged to be 'important.'

To get back to that former simplicity we have to go inward now where that Still Small Voice resides and captivates us with its ingenious soundings on what's going on around us.

We are surrounded by magic through the amazing proliferation of life's bounty and unique forms, all carried upon the wind and into our heart awareness as we are ready to open and receive.

Love seems to creep in at this point to remind us that we are sovereign and quite capable of accessing this beauty and its inherent divinity while feasting upon all that surrounds us.

It sounds like a lot of fun.  Maybe it means putting down those phones for a while and walking in nature where the sounds, smells and delights are all part of any woodland's on-going symphony.

Yes, we need to look up when birds fly by.
We need to touch our hearts where our feelings lie.

We need to know truth when it stares us in the face.
We need to know that Love is never a disgrace.

This is our time to shine as we awaken again.
This is our time to rise and just let it begin.

Ascension please - Just say it with Love!

Mythology in Action #3 - Feb. 21, 2019

Mythology in Action #3 - Feb. 21, 2019
Maurice Turmel PhD - The Spiritual Psychologist

Why Mythology?

The idea that Myth belongs to another era and has no relevance today is simply false.  All myths were born in the heat of humanity’s various stages of awakening as these progressed across the centuries and within every culture living on earth since time immemorial.

Joseph Campbell charted this for us in his many works on the subject, showing clearly that mythology was the sine qua non of teaching tools before humanity had written records they could refer to.  These mythical tales were the world’s first Oral Traditions, where stories about who and what we are as human beings were passed down from generation to generation and can be found across all the world’s cultures.

My favourite resource from Joseph Campbell is “The Hero With a Thousand Faces” which best exemplifies this cross-generational, cross-cultural reality that’s been with mankind since the beginning.  The fact that we often use the word “myth” today as a synonym for a lie is absurd. The reality is that mythology, as described in his voluminous works, is alive and well today and shows up in books, movies and television on a regular basis.

If we’re going to understand the bigger picture of this current evolutionary process called Ascension, we need to see beyond the simple limitations of an individual’s life into the Cosmic program of Evolution as a whole.  We are in the throes of an evolutionary acceleration right now, brought on by a variety of significant factors, one of which is exemplified by the Schumann Resonance Factor which measures the rate of vibration of our planet as a whole.  In the 1950s when this frequency was first measured, it was established to be 7.8 hertz per second and stable at that number for years if not centuries. Since 2012 that frequency has been rising and spiking in the range of 30 to 50 hertz per second with some reports suggesting it is steadily moving higher. Simply put, Mother Earth is vibrating at a higher rate than her previous norm, and all of us aboard are being affected.

This begs the following question. Is it actually possible that such a program of accelerated change is being brought to an entire species of beings, groomed and ready for what some refer to as a bigger than life period of transformation?  “What if this is true?” is the question to be asked by all us humans as we come in touch with this possibility.  To see ourselves as part of this greater picture is to see the Whole Show which then contains snapshots of each other and outlining our part in the whole affair. This would  make our individual contributions to personal growth that much more important.  A lot to swallow, I know.

Mythology answers the question “Why are we here?”  It shows us our place in the grand scheme.  It opens us to the importance of every single life, like an organization of cells that came into being for a specified purpose. What is that purpose but the evolution of all of us as God’s Divine witnesses here on this Earth.  It is collaborative.  It is universal. It is Cosmic.  That’s how big this process is, this Universal Consciousness that is now coming together under the aegis of Ascension.

My book “Conscious Evolution - Mythology in Action” is an introduction to this concept, a place to start, a place to gather forces, personal strengths and awareness, in order to understand and do our part in this evolutionary process. If you Google “Conscious Evolution” you’ll see that many writers are tackling this subject.

The conception here is about more than self-help or personal growth.  This is Universal in its scope, in its administration, in its power to awaken and have people see themselves as part of this Cosmic Force.  Its a big deal!  Awakening to the truth of one’s soul purpose is a big deal, bigger than life itself.  It brings a whole new meaning to what is considered to be an individual’s Life Purpose.

When we ask that question today - “What is my Life Purpose?” - we are asking a Universal question of the ages, what every Hero and Heroine ask themselves at the beginning of their heroic journey.  Since all of humanity is on such a journey today, that question reverberates around the world and swoops people up in its power to arouse and awaken.

This is the power of myth - to inspire, arouse and awaken.  That’s what the characters in our novel “The Voice - A Training Manual for Souls” are finding out and that’s what we address in this non-fiction work titled “Conscious Evolution - Mythology in Action.”

For me understanding Mythology as a series of gifts received from our predecessors is a no-brainer.  Joseph Campbell showed us clearly how important that is. With that in mind we can see that evolution is no longer just a physical or psychological phenomenon but spiritual process which includes all aspects of being human. Once we grasp this as part of our human heritage and take the lead in our individual growth process we are engaged in Conscious Evolution.

Mythology in Action - Part 2

Mythology in Action - Part 2, Feb. 18, 2019
Maurice Turmel PhD - The Spiritual Psychologist

In my first post on this subject I laid out the circumstances in which I felt driven to become a psychologist.  The main trigger of that drive was the failure of my first marriage which set me on a quest to discover who I was and why I was here on this earth.  A divorce by itself is not enough to explain how such a quest came to be.  What were the roots of that particular failure that prompted such a change in life direction?  For the answer to that we have delve into my childhood where conditions and dynamics set the stage for what was to come later resulting in a long list of inappropriate choices that led to a bad marriage.

Once again, this is not to disparage my first wife whose unhappiness with the marriage was well founded from her point of view.  Add to which I myself was an unhappy camper having no idea at such a young age how any marriage was to proceed.  My childhood years set the stage for that failure and others in the area of work until I could identify and put a halt to repeating patterns of self-defeating behaviour.  The driving force behind these patterns was the belief that I did not deserve happiness or success as I unconsciously sabotaged these areas of my life.

The principal factor in all this stemmed directly from my childhood experiences of physical, emotional and mental abuse at the hands of my father.  He was a rager who took his frustrations out on his children, which I, as the eldest, took the brunt.  The terror and abuse that I experienced began before age 5 and continued well into my teens. It wasn’t a daily or weekly event for that matter, but when it happened it was terrifying and left an indelible mark on my psyche.  While other boys were bonding with their fathers and sharing warm and friendly relations, I bonded to terror which is what happens to victims of abuse.  I lived in fear of this man and grew a whole host of survival and avoidance strategies to try and mitigate his rage attacks.  However, being a child I would inevitably screw up and get attacked again.

In those early years my mother did her best to intervene but she was afraid of him too so she couldn’t do much to protect us.  Eventually she did grow stronger and stood up to him, but the damage had already been done. Myself along with two of my sisters bore the brunt of his rages and suffered the greatest damage.  In today’s world children would be removed from such a home, but back in the 50s abuse of children was common and nobody intervened unless you were hospitalized.

Out of this start in life grew low self-esteem and the belief that I was the one responsible for receiving these beatings.  Somehow, without any reasonable explanation, I was condemned for some alleged infraction and a beating with his belt was the end result.  Aside from the terror, another effect of this type of abuse was shame.  I was ashamed of myself because I was being beaten.  So I assumed I deserved it and the beatings happened because I was bad.  Whatever the so-called failure, it was never addressed as bad behaviour - instead, you were deemed a bad person and that’s why you were being beaten. In today’s language the long-term effects of such a childhood would be classified as a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, not unlike what military personnel experience in the heat of war.

This is a simple summary of where the roots of low self-esteem and self-sabotage began for me.  The physical and verbal abuse aside, there were also incidents of sexual abuse brought about by a troubled babysitter and a neighbourhood predator.  But these were mild compared to what was received at home. When these incidents were reported to our mother neither of those persons were ever allowed in our home again. In fairness I can also add here that there were some calm times and even happy times at home when we seemed to function reasonably well as a family. But the threat of dad’s explosive temper and tendency to violence was never far away and we children learned to remain vigilant for those signs.

Why am I sharing all this?  Because unlike choosing to be an airline pilot or architect or lawyer, you don’t choose psychology as a career unless you’re driven there by some predisposing circumstances.  In my case it was simply the need to understand myself and undo those negative patterns of behaviour that cost me jobs and my first marriage.  I needed to know how and why I was sabotaging myself, and what was driving this pattern of behaviour.

The simple answer was an accumulation of feelings such as abandonment, guilt and shame about my very being, and feelings of worthlessness as a result of being a victim of abuse.  The net result of such feelings is revealed in patterns of low self-esteem, self-sabotage and self-rejection.  The solution, simply put, is self-acceptance which in my case meant a long road of recovery and healing through years of group and individual therapy along with personal growth pursuits which all culminated in my choice of a career as a psychologist and helping professional.

It was during these recovery years that I found my way to the Myth of the Hero and saw in this pattern a similar quest to the one I found myself in.  From this came the realization that many humans have lived through such patterns throughout the ages.  So long before we had self-help groups and personal growth seminars, we had the Hero Myth as a model for self-discovery and personal healing from any life trauma, while putting oneself on a healthier track towards real happiness through self-acceptance. This is how my book “Conscious Evolution - Mythology in Action” came to be.  It includes my own experiences as a trauma victim and survivor along with those of several individuals whose biographies I studied while in training. Add to this the experiences of many therapy clients sharing their exposure to trauma and you have what some might call a real “meat and potatoes” kind of book, one that you can sink your teeth into since it is born from real life events.

Within the next few days I will be offering my book “Conscious Evolution - Mythology in Action” as a no cost Kindle Book Promotion for a limited time. I will be posting that information on the blog and in the Goodreads giveaways section.  I’ll be looking for reader feedback and reviews of course. It is my hope that the real life experiences and ideas offered here along with the book will help many of you as well. There may be one or two more posts on this subject before the book giveaway is launched.  Stay tuned to this blog for more.

Coming Home to You - Dr Moe

Coming Home to You

Are we to know this path of ours
From only this one Source
The sign inside says "work ahead"
When do we finish this house

Construction all around us borne
A nasty set of works
No time for waste or hesitates
No time to sleep or quirks

We must now know our part in this
To open up the chore
Grow in there your own new lair
Grow inside your store

Seek the shadows lurking now
In your house made do
By your own rise, you too design
A house that's yours and true

We All Matter

Say It with Love
A Message to All on the Ascension Path
Maurice Turmel (Dr Moe) & Higher Self - 12/27/2018

“WE ALL MATTER”

In the annals of history, in all the old texts, the sublime message of Love there contained states the following:
“WE ALL MATTER”
Yes, every one of us on this earth right now, matters, to the same degree that everything alive on this planet does matter. A symphony of sounds, likes, dislikes, preferences, desires, loves, hates, all amalgamated on to each and every one of us to be parcelled out through our Personal Evolution and Spiritual Growth.
We are all abundant, creative, lustful, desiring, omniscient, fragrant, alert, alive, demonstrative, capable, exuberant, expansive, and so much more. We exude such qualities as we allow ourselves to flourish and express that which is our inner most being, what we are at the core of our lives.
We are here to express such attributes, to share, to laugh, to play, to celebrate, to perform, to demonstrate what each and every one of us are capable of. Its our duty, our job, our calling, our mission, to celebrate and share that with which we are imbued.
What makes us Us? Whatever that is, it matters. We Matter. We all Matter.
In the fabric of Life there are cells, countless cells, all occupying a specific space that cannot be occupied by another. In terms of us, we each have our sacred space, where we stand and reveal, that which makes us Us.
Giving, receiving, opening, closing, dancing, crying, grieving and loving, all of these emotions and their experiences make us who we are as individual cells in this great body called Life.
We are Life in expression. We are God in expression. We have a job to do - to become totally and completely the best Us this world has ever seen. We do it for our Selves and as our duty to the Whole. We occupy that space that is uniquely our own and fill it with our ever evolving gifts.
Every person on this earth, every soul incarnate on this plane, we all matter to the Supreme Being that brought us here. We matter individually and collectively. The God inside sent us forward to discover this for our Selves in order to realize that we are more than just a carbon-based physical body. We are part of the Whole in the fabric of Life and we are cast into a body that is alive with Spirit.
That’s all the Creator asks of us: “Be your Selves to the fullest degree you can.” So let’s be proud to occupy our unique space. It is God given and designed for each of us personally. Let’s give it a go, shall we. Let’s do our best and always remember that:
“WE ALL MATTER”

A Letter from Santa

A Letter from Santa

Maurice Turmel PhD - 2018
(Originally published in “Mythical Times - Exploring Life, Love & Purpose” by the above named)

Oh gather ye round all my children
For I have a tale to tell of the dawning of man
She and He came to Earth a long time ago
To celebrate this life that had been given and was blessed

Oh what wonders befell you as you ventured forth on the Earth
To discover your being in all that mattered
It was never meant to be difficult this journey through time
Only a gentle romp through the woodlands and across the plains

Do not despair, my fragile friends, for you have only gone astray temporarily
He who knows all and sees all is here to guide you back
To that gentle place within where the poetry of your Soul resides

The Creator has written many stories and poems to you over time
To advise you of this sacred place within
You faltered on your journey outward and failed to notice the signs
So Hw comes to you often, in prose, in poetry and in rhyme

Each year at this time you remember Him softly
In the heart of your yearning womb
You can feel that presence sublime, pulsing within your frame
More alive at this time than throughout the year

We of the ethereal realms reach you better now it seems
For your hearts are more open and we are easier to find
You receive us because you want us and we, in turn, find our way to you
Have you ever wondered how this all started?
Where it began, this special time?
You call it Christmas; we call it Love
In our world it makes no difference, as long as you feel the pulse inside

Remember when you were young and oh so eager then too
Awaiting Santa’s reindeer to appear on your roof
You believed so easily then in the power of the mind
You never doubted that He would arrive

Your parents helped with the story, taught to them in their youth
And so on, and so on, all the way back in time
Now you await your truth again, in the eyes of the children before you
They are here to remind you of what you once knew

That the Power of Love has existed since before time
Since before there was an Earth or Heaven above
And the Power of Love insisted that it be known through time
So this purpose of yours came to be born

So many of you chose to come on this journey
To learn all that you could about Life
Here on this Earth you can see afar
Out to the planets and the stars suspended in the sky
They teach of vastness, of triumph, and of destiny too
They teach you to dream and to look way beyond whom you think you are

These beacons of Light, you can take deep into your heart
And rekindle the flame that once burned bright

You are great, you are His sacred ones
Sent forward from the Light
Here to learn “what you can do” to spread this message
That all is really right with this world
In spite of the troubles that lurk about

You see this eternal flame that burns brightly from within
Is not ashamed of its presence, to have itself be known
Its power is eternal, It is not shy
To be expressed is all that It asks

So on Christmas morning, when you awake
Remember this message from deep in your Soul
You are not lost, you are not forsaken
You are to be found where your feelings reside

There in your Heart center, where the truth breaks to surface
There can be no mistaking that Love has taken hold
And this message is not to be forgotten
For it is of the greatest story that has ever been told

When each of you surrenders to this Guiding Light
Another star lights up the sky to cast its beam into the forever Void
Pushing back the darkness a little further
Each time one of you finds their way Home

Isn’t it a great story that you all get to play a part in?
A piece of living history that unfolds itself through you?
You are of the Light Everlasting
You are a Beacon of His Love
Your are a Star in His “Forever Army”
Of life and purpose, and oh yes, so much more

Do not be ashamed of your Being any longer
It is sacred; you must know this without a doubt
He does not cast Himself in rubble, or in stone
Only into the hearts of those whose purpose can be His own

This is our tale of Christmas, a message we give to you
In a package that has shaped itself throughout your history
Each year we bring to you another such message
To be added to the annals of unfolding time

Teach your children this truth of the Light Everlasting
Show them that It resides within
And take no stock in what others tell you
Of this or that not being the true path
Only theirs, or so they claim

The true path for all is illumined by one’s Soul
And that Soul was His to begin
Now it is yours to take you forward through this Life
To learn and then teach what truth you come to know

Everyone has purpose, and love and magic too
Everyone has meaning in the Grand Design
To be sure, that is His Way
To provide that which is needed to sing His praises
Throughout the annals of time

To sing His praises is to sing your own, you see
For you are of Him who has sent forth His Sons and Daughters
His Offspring is you, you see
And you are His to be sure
Till the end of time, and of course, beyond that as well

As we bid farewell to this magical mystery tour
In prose, in poetry and in rhyme
We return to where It all began, the very first Christmas
Somewhere near the dawning of time

Merry Christmas We say to you all

From Santa . . . and from . . . the Divine

"RECEIVING"

Say It with Love
A Message to all on the Ascension Path
Maurice Turmel PhD & Higher Self - 12/17/2018

"RECEIVING"

"Receiving is a generous gift to ourselves.  Our Soul says "Open up and I will pour Love through you."  Love from God, it appears, which is abundant and most satisfying.

It is said that only animals and small children know how to receive.  It's a natural state for them, completely instinctual perhaps.  So what happens to us then on our way to adulthood?  How do we learn to shut out that ever flowing fountain from God the Creator?

Something happens when we become obsessed with "making it" by ourselves while trying to control the flow of good into our lives.  This is fear at work.  Fear says "you have to do it all by yourself."  Love says "Come back to Me and I will show you how to reopen that Heart."  So we can once again receive.  But now it has to be a choice.

Perhaps the lesson is this: we are naturally capable of receiving and enjoying the bounty that God and Life have to offer.  To deny ourselves these benefits we actually have to "learn" to close up.  And there is the essence of the "Fall."  We fall from God's grace into turmoil by believing that all suffering is bad and we must close ourselves off from these feelings in order to be safe.  Closed off from suffering means we are also closed off from our Source of supply as well.

Redemption comes through surrender.  By surrendering, that is, by opening up and releasing those so-called safety defences, we regain that capacity to receive.  Sure, we may still suffer at times.  In this Life there are losses and heartaches to grieve alongside receiving the good stuff.  Bitter and Sweet.  Only by accepting this and surrendering to God's grace do we return to that primal reality where all was blissful and without concern.

But now we are adults you see, and not children anymore.  And we know Life can be bittersweet in spite of that loving connection to the Great Creator.  We accept that reality at this juncture because we have grown.  We know what it's like to be without His love and we'd rather be in God's arms than not.  The suffering will pass - it always does.  But the reign the Love remains constant.  Reach out and grab some, won't you?  That's the Spirit!
